Dívka a robot vychází 18. srpna na Steamu

Next week is a big week for Flying Carpet Games. The independent developers have announced recently that Dívka a robot will be officially releasing on the Steam store starting next week on August 18th.

The news was made over on the official Parní stránka obchodu for the game, where the developers announced that version 1.0 is primed and ready for public consumption.

The title puts players in the role of both a little girl and a giant robot, as they solve puzzles using the girl and defeat evil robots using the giant gold robot. A lot of people are already comparing the game to the PS2 classic, ico. There’s definitely a retro-feel to the way the game is designed and plays out. It’s old-fashioned in the sense that it’s not designed to hand-hold you every single inch across the finish line.

The launch trailer highlights the dual character gameplay, where players will have to switch back and forth between both the girl and the robot in order to complete certain puzzles and battle the evil robots. The combat reminds me a lot of The Legend of Zelda, where players can dodge, strike and even shoot arrows at enemies to strip away their armor and eventually break them into pieces.

The art-style is said to be reminiscent of the old fairy tales, designed to mimic a water painting of sorts. It remind me of classic PS2 titles where the graphics were basically used as a vehicle to help convey the kind of unique gameplay atmosphere that gamers expected from the title, as opposed to a bunch of games these days rehashing the same style and theme with mundane mechanics, a little like Divize or Quantum Přestávka abychom jmenovali jen několik.

Můžete se podívat, jak dostat své ruce na Dívka a robot starting next week on August 18th. Following that there are plans to release the game on the Wii U and the PlayStation 4. For more info feel free to check out the Parní stránka obchodu nebo oficiální webové stránky.
