Electronic Arts posted and then deleted a tweet indicating that Star Wars: Battlefront II will have its first gameplay reveal take place on April 15th.

They originally made the post early in the AM at 9:00 on April 8th, 2017. You can check out the original screen capture of the tweet below.

If you attempt to load up the tweet now, all you’ll get is empty promises.

There’s no further mention on the official Twitter account for Electronic Arts. They pretend as if the tweet never happened… but we all know the internet never forgets. A quick search through the search engine cache brought up the original, and it was just a matter of archiving the cache so everyone could see what Electronic Arts originally posted up on social media.

On the upside, it at least looks as if gamers can get their first glimpse at the next entry in the long running Star Wars: Battlefront série.

The original game that came out in 2015 as part of the hype machine for Star Wars Epizoda VII: The Force probouzí, was little more than a cash-in on the Hvězdné války brand and a tech demo for the Frostbite 3 game engine.

The original release was as bare bones as you could get, with barely any sort of noteworthy gameplay features that could rival what Pandemic achieved a whole decade earlier.

Anyway, we’ll see if DICE manages to actually bring some real gameplay to the table with Star Wars: Battlefront II or if they’ll coast on by with pretty graphics and content that’s equivalent to what you would find from a second year season pass offering.

Many of the tweets in response to EA’s announcement were also ones of being well aware of how much of a cash-grab the last game and its DLC was, so unless EA and DICE really bring the heat this time around, people might have finally wizened up to “Nope” right on out.
