Craving some of those old-school 16-bit JRPG flavors that helped bring a smorgasbord of enriched gameplay experiences to the SNES and Sega Genesis way back in the 1990s? Feeling like going on a new adventure to give your palate for questing something nostalgic and retro-inspired to play in the coming weeks? Well, if you don’t have a beefy PC but you’re inclined to play something that hearkens back to the old days of gaming, Something Classic Games will have Stíny Adam ripe and waiting for you come February 23rd.
The developers announced that the turn-based role-playing title will be available for PC, Mac and Linux.
The game centers on the village of Adam, and the legendary hero Orazio who ends up going missing. His adopted daughter Asrael and his son Kellan end up going on an adventure to help find their father and uncover the dark secret he’s kept from them all this time.
Something Classic Games creative director Tim Wendorf explained in the press release that not only is the game a tribute to the classics, but it’s also something designed to help give newcomers a taste of an original adventure that’s designed in the old ways, stating…
“It’s an honor for us to provide Shadows of Adam in its entirety to newcomers, and of course our Kickstarter supporters, followers, and fans finally getting their full course meal!” “This game is our tribute to an industry which has consistently rewarded its followers for decades by offering classic after classic to keep even the strongest and most unique RPG urges satiated.”
We’ve seen a number of JRPG-inspired titles released in recent years, but few have managed to stand out other than the Evoland series. So we’ll see if this new game from Something Classic Games can also stand up and carve out its own niche market.
To commemorate the launch date being set into stone for Stíny Adam, a launch trailer was released, giving gamers a brief overview of what’s to come.
The mix of adventuring, a little bit of stealth, a strong focus on exploration and a graphic style that seems to look like Final Fantasy V může pomoci Stíny Adam vyčnívat.
