The Land Of Pain, hororové demo CryEngine je nyní k dispozici na Steamu

Indie developer Alessandro Guzzo has been working on a first-person horror title using Crytek’s CryEngine game engine. The indie project is designed to not only showcase the CryEngine’s power but also give gamers a bit of interaction to mess around with in highly detailed environments spanning a huge map.

The full game features various buildings, caves, swamps and graveyards as players will attempt to survive in the harsh environment while attempting to explore an unknown part of the woods where dead bodies have been discovered.

The object of the game is to interact with the environment, avoiding the horrors that lurk through the woods and attempting to utilize the visuals and audio to avoid being spotted out. You can see what the gameplay looks like with the video trailer below.

Surprisingly the game has a much cleaner look than what I was expecting. In fact the game looks a heck of a lot better than what one would assume would be coming out of a one-man development studio.

Players will investigate the disturbing events occurring throughout the forest all while avoiding becoming a victim of whatever it is hunting you throughout the woods.

Essentially the game is quite similar to Frictional Games’ Amnézie. I would imagine a lot of people looking for a horror-style game on a similar basis might enjoy Země bolestí.

The only drawback, of course, is that the game does not feature the ability to fight back or defend yourself against whatever it is chasing you through the forest. This means that you’ll have to rely on hiding and running, assuming you’re okay with that.

Of course, you don’t have to take anyone’s word for it… you can try out the CryEngine-powered game by grabbing the free demo from over on the Stránka obchodu Steam.
