Nešikovný Steve Duology, FMV Adventure se spouští na Steamu

The arthouse, hipster FMV adventure The Unwakward Steve Duology has officially launched on Steam for $3.99. You can get your hands on the game for 10% off the normal price during the first week for only $3.59.

Developer Oh, A Rock! Studios announced that the game is not only available on Steam, but it also features Steam achievements, trading card support, and you can also play it with a controller.

The entire thing is played through full motion video, with two games included in the package and a “full TV show’s worth” of FMV captured to bring to the experience to life.

The whole thing is done by one person, and it features multiple endings based on the decisions players make throughout the game.

You can see what it looks like with the trailer below.

This arthouse experiment will also be on display at the Smithsonian, as part of the SAAM Arcade taking place between August 5th and August 6th. You can learn more about the appearance at the Smithsonian by visiting the official American Art website.

The game seems be pretty simple and straightforward. It’s hard to tell if this is something that will appeal to people who generally enjoy FMV adventure games. It’s certainly not up to the quality or caliber of something like Infekční Madness of Doctor Dekker or Pozdní posun.

A large part of the appeal of FMV games is usually the movie-quality effects and presentation. However, when that element is restricted or limited due to a budget-priced title like the case of The Unwakward Steve Duology, the question then becomes: is this still worth the price of admission and will it be fun?

It’s an experimental indie project, so go in with your expectations centered around that caveat. Otherwise, you can learn more about the game by visiting the Parní stránka obchodu.
