Pro Social Games announced that Imperatum has been updated during its Early Access phase to include an all new BitCoin Mode. Now just to clarify, this mode does not enable you to use real life BitCoins to make purchase in the game – besides Valve cut off the BitCoin currency option a while back, so that wouldn’t have worked anyway.
So you’re probably wondering what the heck the BitCoin Mode does? Well, it adds an all new RNG factor to the game that changes loot drops, enemy spawns, and scales the difficulty based on the real-life fluctuation of the BitCoin on the market.
Given how unstable BitCoin is at the moment, this means Imperatum will wildly fluctuate in its content, just like BitCoin’s worth.
But the update isn’t just about tying an in-game RNG factor to a real-life crypto-currency.

In addition to the levels and difficulty, they also added some new enemies, such as a new drone. They created a new audio transition system to make music blending more seamless during gameplay. They updated the text so that they can localize it into different languages in the future. Added new audio for some of the skills. They optimized some of the loot display to improve performance so that as lots of loot drops it won’t slow down your machine. And they fixed a number of other bugs and glitches in the Early Access version.
Pro Social Games has plans on updating the game up through the spring where they have tentative plans to graduate it from Early Access. Imperatum is supposed to spend six to eight months in Early Access, and has been in there since August of 2017.
The game is an isometric, hack-and-shoot, Diablo clone themed around typical action-RPG mechanics and looting and grinding in a sci-fi, futuristic setting.
