Přetažený přes betonový přívěs ukazuje, jak Mel Gibson a Vince Vaughn upadají do kriminálního šílenství

Two police detectives are thrust into a world of organized crime and unexpected violence when they stop being good guys and decide to go to bat for the other team. The two leads are played by veteran actors Vince Vaughn and Mel Gibson, arguably two of the last remaining Conservatives in Hollywood with actual balls they neither of them paid for, nor acquired from persons under the age of 18.

The film is about Vaughn and Gibson being suspended after they get outed for police brutality. Without pay and without respect, the duo decide that it’s high time they do something about their dire financial situation, and so their best bet is to become criminals. Only, things don’t quite go as planned.

You can check out the trailer below, which was posted up recently over on the Lionsgate YouTube channel.

Don Johnson is looking exceptionally dapper these days. He aged a heck of a lot more gracefully than poor ‘ole Gibson.

Even still, Gibson retains his hard-edged flavor, as he plays an aging, poor cop who has been mistreated and ill-favored during his tenure on the force. Gibson and Vaughn decide to shape their own fate by devolving into a life of crime. Only, things don’t quite go as planned and apparently some black thugs get in their way.

Now what’s interesting here is that the two cops are played by white leads, and the movie acknowledges that they’ve been mistreated and the only way to get what’s owed to them is to take it. The movie also still devolves into typical diversity agendas by pushing the interracial couple trope, with Vince Vaughn’s in-movie girlfriend being black.

However, the director is the same one who brought us timeless classics like Bone Tomahawk a Hádka v bloku buňky 99. S. Craig Zahler has a real eye for drama, and it would be remiss of anyone to pass up a movie just based on snippets of a trailer.

And speaking of the trailer… oh boy did the editor do a piss poor job of bringing this movie to life. It seemed both rushed and incoherent all at the same time. It was like it was trying really quickly to get somewhere all while moving at a snail’s pace. Nothing really happens until the end of the trailer but even then there’s just nothing. However, you can’t really go wrong with Gibson and Vaughn in what is essentially a buddy-up thriller.

You can look for the film to drop soon, so keep an eye out, especially if you want to support some of the sparse few actors making films that aren’t rife and oozing with the Liberal agenda.
