Pearl Abyss announced that Black Desert Online has generated $1 billion in gross sales since originally launching back in 2014 in South Korea, and later in the West on PC and home consoles. The game has amassed more than 18 million registered users across 150 different countries.

The very popular MMORPG has developed a love-hate relationship with its audience, but that hasn’t stopped the company from making mad bank on this unassuming MMO.

The buy-to-play game is also stepping outside the boundaries of PC and home console gaming, prepping to enter into the global mobile arena for iOS and Android devices later this year. Pearl Abyss dropped the new mobile trailer, focusing on 30 seconds of in-game play, which is now isometric based to accommodate the limited control scheme for smartphones and tablets. Additionally, over on the Černá poušť Xbox web portal, they rolled out a visual roadmap to discuss what they’ve launched for the Xbox One version of the game and what’s coming to the home console version.

Now some of you may have noticed that the Xbox One version was severely lacking when it came to content, regions, and classes compared to the PC version. Well, Pearl Abyss is well aware of that, which is why they have plans on adding four new playable classes; world bosses; node war and siege war; three new regions that include the Mediah, the Valencia, and the Kamasylvia; along with Awakening, absolute skills and the level cap removal.

All of this content will be made available for the Xbox One before the first half of 2019 is complete. This means that all of the content will be rolled out before the end of the second quarter.

Pearl Abyss will also be juggling their time helping CCP localize EVE Online for a South Korean launch during the fourth quarter of 2019. So they’re going to be fairly busy all throughout the remainder of the year.
